Interpreter Services (spoken and sign language)

Regions Hospital is committed to providing professional spoken and sign language interpreters to our patients and families. Interpreter services are free of charge and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you require an interpreter, please tell the admitting or nursing staff in order to make arrangements.

Spoken Language
Staff spoken language interpreters are available weekdays in Cambodian/Khmer, Hmong, Oromo/Amharic, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Interpreters are available in other languages or after hours over the telephone or through a contracted agency.

Sign Language
American Sign Language (ASL) and tactile staff interpreters are available in-person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, Telecommunication devices for the deaf (TTY), and phone amplifiers are available on request. A video phone is accessible for patients and families on the first floor in the Atrium.
