Our Staff
The staff at the Burn Center has extensive experience in the treatment of burn injuries. Many have over 20 years of experience in burn care and are national leaders in burn treatment, research and rehabilitation. We offer patients the most up-to-date burn care available.
The staff includes:
Burn Surgeons
- lead and coordinate all of your care
Surgical Residents
- assist your surgeon in caring for you; these physicians have completed medical school and are receiving more training in burn surgery
Nurses
- assist in your daily care; the nurses are specially trained to care for patients with burn injuries
Burn Rehabilitation Therapists
- work to exercise and rehabilitate the burned area(s) of your body
Physiatrist
- a physician specializing in rehabilitating and restoring function and range of motion to injured parts of the body
Social Worker
- assists with discharge planning and becomes the patient's link to community resources
Psychologist
- assists with the emotional impact of burn injuries
Child-life Specialist
- helps children with the emotional trauma associated with burns
Dietitians
- specialize in nutritional planning
Chaplains
- support your spiritual needs
