Minnesota Womens Press readers named the Breast Health Center at Regions Hospital among their favorites to receive a mammogram in the publications 2006 annual survey. The publication has a circulation of 40,000 readers.
Regions Hospital has received Specialty Excellence AwardsTM for stroke care, critical care and coronary intervention from the 2008 HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study. Hospitals who receive these honors were in the top tier in the HealthGrades ratings for these specialty areas.
The Birth Center at Regions Hospital was recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement for its work on implementing clinical and quality indicators for obstetric patient. The Birth Center is one of two U.S. hospitals to receive a rating of 4.5 (out of a possible 5 points).
Regions Hospital received the highest ranking in the metro area in three key areas of a national quality report. We received above average ratings for heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care, according to The Joint Commissions Quality Check website.
Regions Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) along with St. Paul Fire, honored EMS responders who are part of the ResQ Trial Lifesaver Award program in a 2008 ceremony. For the past three years, Regions EMS and St. Paul Fire have partnered in a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) study, which compares the effectiveness of standard CPR by itself, and when CPR is performed with special devices called the ResQPOD and the ResQPump.
