Regions Hospital is the official hospital for Minnesota Wild fans

500 fans treated annually at Health Station inside the X

St. Paul, Minn. - Regions Hospital has renewed its partnership with the Minnesota Wild for the 2008-09 National Hockey League season. Under the partnership, Regions emergency medicine physicians will be at all Wild home games, as well as other events at the Xcel Energy Center throughout the year, to provide care to fans and attendees with minor medical needs or life-threatening emergencies.

"We are excited about our continued partnership with the Minnesota Wild," said Brent Asplin, M.D., medical director of the Emergency Center at Regions. "With the Regions Health Station at the Xcel Energy Center, we are able to extend the reach of our care providers into the community as part of our role as a leading provider of emergency and trauma care in the east metro."

Almost 500 people use the Regions Hospital Health Station during an average Minnesota Wild season. The Health Station is staffed in partnership with volunteers from the Twin Cities American Red Cross. The most common reasons fans visit the Health Station are for headaches, minor cuts or pain. The most common request is for an over-the-counter medication such as aspirin.
