Regions Hospital announces new board chair and member
St. Paul, Minn. - Regions Hospital today announced that local business leader Jim Clifford has been named board chair of the non-profit hospital for 2009-10. In addition, Russ Nelson has been appointed to a three-year term on the board.
Clifford is the former executive vice president and chief credit officer of Marshall BankFirst Corp where he managed the firm's credit and risk management groups. He has more than 25 years of experience in banking, finance, investments, strategic planning and business development. Clifford's other board affiliations include the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation. He has been a member of the Regions board since 2002.
Nelson is president of Nelson, Tietz & Hoye, a corporate real estate consulting firm based in Minneapolis. He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate services including strategic planning, financial analysis, lease negotiations and buying and selling property. Nelson is involved with a number of other professional and community organizations including board memberships with the Minnesota State Chamber of Commerce, The Science Museum of Minnesota, The Minneapolis Foundation, Minneapolis Downtown Council and the Itasca Project. Nelson has also been a board member for the Regions Hospital Foundation for the last six years.
