Patient's Bill of Rights
The staff of Regions Hospital are dedicated to serving your needs and providing for your care and comfort. We want you to know that you have certain rights and responsibilities as a patient.

Your Rights
You have the right to:
  • courteous and respectful treatment
  • a safe and comfortable environment
  • appropriate medical care
  • a clear and understandable explanation of your diagnosis, treatment plan and what to expect
  • be told the names of your doctor and other caregivers
  • privacy and confidentiality
  • participate in planning your care
  • refuse medical treatment
  • refuse participation in any research studies
  • an interpreter, if you are hard of hearing or do not speak or understand English
  • practice your religion and culture
  • register complaints
  • complete a Health Care Directive or other witten document describing your wishes for future medical care
Your Responsibilities
You are expected to:
  • tell the doctor everything you can about your condition, including all symptoms, the medicines you are taking and your past medical history
  • ask questions about your care
  • let the doctor or nurse know about any changes in your symptoms, medications or general conditions
  • respect other patients by keeping your television or radio volume on low and asking your visitors to respect other patients' privacy and need for rest
  • treat the staff with respect
  • pay your medical bills on time
  • treat hospital property and equipment with care
