Regions Hospital Names New Vice President of Medical Affairs
St. Paul, Minn., Michael Trangle, M.D., has been appointed to serve as vice president of medical affairs for Regions Hospital.

Dr. Trangle will begin his new responsibilities Feb. 1. In his role as VPMA, he will serve as a key member of the hospitals senior management team, providing insight and direction on the quality of medical care at Regions and offering a physician perspective on other matters. Dr. Trangle will work closely with the HealthPartners Medical Group physicians, their leadership and administration on improving care and services to our patients, growing clinical programs and improving medical staff and hospital operations.

In addition to his role as VPMA, Dr. Trangle will continue as associate medical director for behavioral health services and as a clinical assistant professor for the department of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Dr. Trangle joined the HealthPartners Medical Group in 2001, overseeing the inpatient and outpatient aspects of behavioral health for Regions and HealthPartners Medical Group. Prior to this role, Dr. Trangle served in a number of roles for Allina Health System including his most recent as executive medical director for behavioral health services from 1995-2000. He served as vice chairman for the department of psychiatry at Park Nicollet from 1984-1994.

Dr. Trangle received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency and chief residency in psychiatry from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
