January 5, 2005 Holmen to lead business development, physician strategy Former Allina board member joins HealthPartners, Regions St. Paul, Minn. Kenneth Holmen, M.D., today joined HealthPartners and Regions Hospital as vice president for business development and physician strategy. Dr. Holmen will oversee the organization's outreach activities, including leading and expanding provider relationships with Regions and the HealthPartners Medical Group. Dr. Holmen joins HealthPartners and Regions with more than 20 years on the medical staff at United Hospital and Childrens Hospital in St. Paul, where he was president of Associated Anesthesiologists, P.A., which provided anesthesia services to 11 facilities in the east metro including United Hospital, Children's Hospital St. Paul and HealthEast facilities, among others. He was a member of the United Hospital Board of Directors. He also served on the Medica Board of Directors from 1995 to 1998 and the Allina Board of Directors from 1997 to 2004. Holmen earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and did postgraduate training in surgery and anesthesia at the U of M. He is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
