Sept. 23, 2005 HealthPartners Medical Group Hires Family Medicine Physician to Practice at Regions St. Paul, Minn. Nairy Sarkis, M.D., will join HealthPartners Medical Group and start work at Regions Hospital as a family medicine practitioner in Oct. 2005. Dr. Sarkis earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Baghdad in Iraq. She then completed two years of postgraduate training at the Ministry of Health Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, before coming to the United States to practice medicine in 1996. Dr. Sarkis completed a residency in family and community medicine at Regions and will now join the staff as a fully certified physician. Dr. Sarkis is certified in advanced trauma, advanced cardiac and pediatric advanced life support. Prior to her residency at Regions, Dr. Sarkis worked at the Broadway Family Medical Center in Glendale, Cal., in the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program. She also wrote an article about breast cancer and masses in women ages 22 and younger, which was published in Clinical Obstetric and Gynecology in Sept. 2002. Dr. Sarkis is fluent in English, Armenian and Arabic.
