Complementary care services and benefits offered to patients, families and community More than 900 cancer-related resources available at Regions Hospital St. Paul, Minn., Jan. 30, 2006 - Patients and their families can take advantage of numerous complementary care services offered through the Cancer Care Center at Regions Hospital. In the past couple of years the Cancer Care Center, which opened new in November 2002, has designed complementary care services to educate the mind, restore a sense of well-being and reduce discomfort for patients. Among the many complementary care therapies offered include: Anti-nausea wristbands Body relaxation classes Music therapy Pet therapy Relaxation therapies Therapeutic massage Adjoined to the Cancer Care Center is the Patricia D. Lundborg Cancer Library, which is one of the most extensive Twin Cities libraries dedicated exclusively to cancer topics and open to patients, their families and the community. The library contains more than 900 books and video resources filled with cancer-related information. The resources include a variety of topics from cancer-specific illnesses to information about relaxation, nutrition and more. The library also provides computer access, and its web site offers links to more than 400 categorized web pages with cancer-related information.
