Regions ER physician receives national teaching award
May 22 - James CollettiST. PAUL, Minn. – Dr. James Colletti, Regions Hospital Emergency Center, recently received the 2006 Faculty Teaching Award from the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors. He is one of only two recipients of this prestigious award, chosen from over 130 emergency medicine residency programs across the country.

Dr. Colletti was named associate program director of emergency medicine residency at Regions in January 2005. Before joining Regions, he held a similar position at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where he received the Mayo Fellows Association Teaching award three years in a row and was inducted into the Mayo Clinic Teacher of the Year Hall of Fame. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland Combined Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics Residency where he served as a chief resident and received the outstanding teacher award – department of pediatrics, the Mead Johnson Pediatric research award, the outstanding resident research award, and the exemplary clinical resident award – Department of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Colletti's nominators described him as "an in-the-trenches kind of teacher who invests all of himself into the development of other people."
