Meet some of our Professional Recognition Program recipients Sarah, RN, Telemetry, Professional Recognition Program recipient"I chose to complete the Professional Recognition Program because I really wanted to work on a challenging project that would help my patients, coworkers and other staff I work with. I enjoyed working with my manager on some unit process improvement work and seeing the successes." Tammy, RN, 5E (Surgical), Professional Recognition Program recipient After graduating from Winona State University in 2002, Tammy accepted her first nursing job at Regions Hospital. As a nursing student Tammy participated in a hospital tour and knew immediately that Regions was where she wanted to spend her nursing career. "I was very impressed when I first walked in – the hospital atrium is beautiful. But what really made a difference was the people I met that day. They were very friendly and clearly very proud of the work they do." In 2005, Tammy successfully achieved Level Three of the Professional Recognition Program and renewed it in 2006. "I was encouraged to pursue this program and felt honored that someone believed in me. I developed and presented an in-service on "Dealing with Difficult People" at Nursing Education Day and at a Nursing Lunch and Learn to meet one of the program's requirements for education. I have now successfully completed Level Three and Level Three-Renewal, and I encourage and mentor some of my coworkers to pursue the Professional Recognition Program." |
