REGIONS HOSPITAL BENEFITS This information may vary based upon union contracts. Insurance Information Medical Employees working 40 - 80 hours per pay period (2wks), are eligible for health coverage. We offer HealthPartners Choice and coverage is effective the first day of the month following hire date. Temporary employees and employees working less than 40 hours per pay period are not eligible. Dental Employees working 40 - 80 hours per pay period (2wks), are eligible for dental coverage. We offer HealthPartners Exceed Choice and coverage is effective the first day of the month following hire date. Temporary employees and employees working less than 40 hours per pay period are not eligible. We do offer Flex Dollars for opting out of medical and dental coverage. Your Personal Time (PTO) PTO Employees can earn PTO (paid time off) if they are a regular employee working 32-80 hours per pay period. Paid time off can be used for vacation, illness, holidays, family need or personal business. Holidays For purposes of pay and time off, Regions recognizes the following days as holidays: New Year's Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day
Spending Accounts Health care and dependent care spending accounts Regular employees working 40-80 hours per pay period are eligible for this benefit. Spending accounts (health care and/or dependent care) allow you to pay for certain health, dental or dependent care expenses you incur such as eye glasses, orthodontia, or day care on a pre-tax basis. As a result of your participation, your taxable income is decreased. Retirement Plans Pension Employees must be a Plan Participant (Definition of participant: Completing one year of service, working 1000 hours and at least 21 years of age.) Employer makes base contribution of 4% of annual pay if participant worked 1000 hours in the year and is employed on December 31. 100% vested in base contribution after 3 years of service. Participants choose investment funds. Employer makes matching contibution of up to 2% of annual pay if participant contributes to the tax sheltered annuity. 100% vested in matching contribution after becoming a plan participant. There is no cost to the employee for this service. Tax Sheltered Annuity Program All Employees may enroll in this program immediately after employment date. The tax sheltered annuity plan is a 403(b) savings program with deferred federal and state taxes on the deposits and interest. Your specified amount is deducted from your paycheck.
Tuition Reimbursement & Educational Opportunities Tuition Reimbursement Employees who have passed probation and are not on-call are eligible. Employees may receive up to $2,000 annually if course enhances quality of work in present or future position. Union employees will need to refer to bargaining unit contract. Educational Opportunities Scholarship programs for education include: The Diversity Council Scholarship, Gloria Fox RN Nursing Scholarship, Daniel Gaither Careers in Health Care, Dr. John and Doris Simestad Scholarship Fund. Continuing education classes are offered to Regions employees through TCHP Education Consortium at nominal or no fee. Employee Assistance Program Available for all employees. This program is a confidential short-term assessment, counseling and referral service offered through Children's Home Society & Family Services. Leave of Absence Employees may be eligible for medical, personal, adoptive, maternity and paternity leaves. Union employees will need to refer to union contract.

Smoking Cessation Classes classes are offered on Regions campus periodically through the year. Buyers Services Employees can save money on major purchases when they use United Buying Service, a consumer discount program offered as an employee benefit. Discounts are available on furniture, appliances, televisions, VCRs, stereos, jewelry, carpeting, travel, real estate and cars. Credit Union As a Regions Hospital employee you and your family are eligible to join the City and County Employees Credit Union. Optical Shop Regions employees as well as their dependents can receive a 20% discount on the purchase of prescription glasses at Regions Optical shop. Health Education Classes and Services
Employee Recognition Employees are recognized for their commitment and dedication to the organization throught our Service Award Program. A special lapel pin is given to employees who reach certain milestones in their length of service with our organization. In addition, the hospital periodically sponsors ice cream socials, coupons for a free meal or a free dessert in the cafeteria, welcoming and farewell teas, etc... Pro of the Month A program through which hospital, clinic and foundation staff members are recognized by their co-workers for exemplary service. Benefits include a free parking spot on campus for a month, engraved plaque, recognition by Regions CEO Brock Nelson with a ceremony in their department, a gift certificate for dinner and a professional photograph posted on the Pro of the Month bulletin board as well as recognition in our Newslink publication.
