  | Hospital Physician Program
Hospital care from someone you can trust
Since your physician may be focused on serving patients in the clinic, your doctor has referred you to our physicians to coordinate and provide for your hospital care. Our hospital physicians specialize in caring for people who are hospitalized and will make certain that you receive high quality services.
Your hospital physicians are board certified in Internal Medicine and Family Practice and have chosen to dedicate their practice to caring for only those patients who are hospitalized. We also have nurse practitioners who care for you. They have specialized experience and expertise in hospital medicine. They oversee all your care while you are hospitalized, working in direct contact with your physician to help ensure continuity of care.
Hospital physicians who practice at Regions Hospital are members of the nationally recognized HealthPartners Medical Group.
Communications between hospital physicians and your physician
Your hospital physician receives all of your relevant medical background information from your physician. That information is shared with the team of medical professionals who will see you during your hospital stay to make sure everyone is aware of your needs. During and after your stay, your physician will be kept up-to-date on your condition.
Coordinating and providing your care
Your hospital physician is responsible for coordinating the care you receive throughout your hospital stay. Your hospital physician, specialty physicians and your own physician work as a team with you to make decisions about your care.
Your hospital physician is available seven days a week to help provide the best possible service. During your hospital stay, you will see your hospital physician, needed specialists and other consultants. They will assess your condition, order diagnostic tests, interpret results and organize your care.
Our hospital physicians rotate every one to two weeks. Depending on the length of your stay, you may see more than one hospital physician.
