As a nationally-certified primary stroke center, Regions Hospital is in a unique position to help. We focus on the urgent needs of our stroke patients to make sure treatment is provided when it counts the most. Getting stroke patients to the hosptial quickly is vital. Make sure you know the most common stroke warning signs:
- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
- Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
- Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
- Sudden severe headache with no known cause
- Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Not all these warning signs occur in every attack. If you suspect a problem - don't delay. Call 9-1-1 and get to a facility that can help you as quickly as possible. Every minute counts.
