Outpatient Mental Health Services

Outpatient mental health services are provided to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people by the Health and Wellness Program (HWP) staff in a variety of locations:

  • Regions Hospital-East Section (St. Paul)
  • Hennepin County Health Services Building (Minneapolis)
  • Regional Service Center/Rehabilitation Services (St. Cloud)
  • Various remote sites using video-conferencing technology
HWP's mental health therapists provide individual, group, couples and family sessions for a wide range of life issues such as:

  • Abuse
  • Addictions
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Behavior problems
  • Childhood trauma
  • Crisis intervention
  • Family of origin
  • Grief recovery
  • Medication management
  • Mood disorders (depression)
  • Parenting issues
  • Personality problems
  • Psycho-diagnostic evaluation
  • Relationship issues
  • School and work adjustment
  • Thought disorders
HWP staff has also provided Relapse Prevention groups, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (D.B.T.) skills groups and a psychoeducational group to teach about general life skills and mental health issues.
