Amputee and Prosthetics

If you are an amputee in need of prosthetic training our physical therapy clinics have a well-established program in which we evaluate and treat individuals with above-the-knee and below-the-knee amputations. We work with an onsite and local prosthetists to modify the prosthetic device to meet your mobility needs.

If you think you may benefit from this program, consult your physician. (An order from your physician is necessary to participate in this program.)

The program includes a thorough evaluation followed by instruction in wearing and caring for your prosthesis, pre-gait activities, lower extremity strengthening exercises, balance activities, gait training and stair training.
