 | 9th Annual Lundborg Oncology Golf Classic
The Lundborg Oncology Golf Classic raises funds for the Cancer Care Center at Regions Hospital to provide long-term financial resources for patient care and education. The 2007 event netted over $60,000, a 23% increase over 2006.
Funds from the tournament support the Patricia D. Lundborg Cancer Library at Regions. The library offers cancer resources in a convenient, on-site facility. Since the creation of the library in 2000, annual library usage has continued to increase each year. In 2006 alone, over 1,952 people visited the library and used over 2,700 items. Funds from the tournament support the development and continuation of the library by providing resources for patients, their families and friends, hospital staff, and members of the community. Proceeds also fund the salary of a librarian and help fund the annual Cancer Survivors Celebration, which drew more than 200 attendees in April 2007.
