You may begin Inpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation while in the hospital recovering from a heart related event or surgery. Our professional staff will start educating you on healthy lifestyle changes.
After hospital discharge, your doctor may recommend continuing Cardiac Rehabilitation. Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation includes monitored exercise and education.
Cardiac Rehabilitation helps you to:
- Better understand heart health
- Have more energy
- Get stronger faster
- Learn management of your risk factors
- Get back to the things you enjoy
- Reduce stress
- Decrease chances of future heart problems
- Enhance quality of life
Who provides my care?
You are the most important member of your care team. A multi-disciplinary team consisting of exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians and a cardiologist will assist you.
How do I get started?
Cardiac Rehabilitation begins with a doctor's referral. Once you have been referred, please call to make your initial appointment. During your initial appointment, a nurse will perform an individual clinical evaluation. Included in your evaluation is a short monitored exercise session. You will then be scheduled for future sessions. A family member, significant other or friend is always welcome.
