February 17, 2005 Child-related Burn Injuries Highlighted At Local Burn & Wound Care Today Conference EVENT TOMORROW AT AIRPORT HILTON St. Paul, Minn., Burn Center staff from Regions Hospital will present "Newer Trend Injuries in Kids" at the Burn and Wound Care Today conference to raise awareness about preventable burn injuries, and the damage caused to children when burns occur. William Mohr, M.D., medical director of Regions' burn program, and Beth Franzen, manager of Regions' burn rehabilitation program, will lead this discussion and be available for questions on the topic. Among the burn injuries they will present are fireplace, treadmill and palm injuries, which have been more prevalent in recent years. They will also discuss surgical management and peculiarities as they relate to children who are injured due to burns.
