March 21, 2006 Cardiothoracic Surgeon Goya Raikar, M.D., joins Regions Hospital and HealthPartners Medical Group March 21, 2006 St. Paul, Minn., – Goya Raikar, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.C.C.P., recently began work as a cardiothoracic surgeon at Regions Hospital as part of the HealthPartners Medical Group. Dr. Raikar comes to Regions and HealthPartners from the Northern Heart and Vascular Institute in Redding, Cal., where he most recently served as director of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. He has also worked as a cardiothoracic surgeon at Marshfield Clinic in Wausau, Wis., and Valley Heart Associates in Modesto, Cal. His professional interests include off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), mitral valve repair, a-fib ablation, aortic root pathology and thoracic oncology. Dr. Raikar attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed his residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minn., and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
