Teamwork and crisis management are difficult concepts to learn, teach and evaluate. Our patient outcomes depend on our team's knowledge, efficiency and partnerships. Through simulation the care giving team learns crisis management, equipment and procedure knowledge, technical skills, leadership and teamwork.The HealthPartners Simulation Center for Patient Safety at Metropolitan University is a learning environment for health care providers from a variety of disciplines. Individuals as well as teams can learn in a safe, controlled environment away from the clinical setting, with an overall goal of increasing patient safety. Nurses can train in an area that is specific to their work environment; the simulator has extended capabilities to mimic multiple types of acute crises and patient care scenarios.
