Charge Nurses

Molly, RN, Charge Nurse, 2CM (Post Partum)
Molly"The charge nurse role at the Birth Center is challenging and rewarding. I feel lucky to work with a group of fantastic nurses, all of whom have a wide range of knowledge from the clinical aspect to the psychosocial and cultural perspectives. I have a sense of satisfaction at the end of my shift when I have successfully facilitated the admits and discharges during the shift, staffed the oncoming shifts with nurses, taken great care of my patients, and acted as a resource to my nurses and other ancillary staff. Regions gives me the support I need to accomplish all this and more."

Mary, RN, Charge Nurse, 5E (Surgical Unit)
maryIn 1978, Mary first came to Regions Hospital. She has worked in the SICU, dialysis and for the last six years has been the evening charge nurse on the Regions surgical unit. "In the role of charge nurse, I represent my unit to the other hospital departments. I have the chance to role model professional and positive behaviors to the staff and to coordinate and facilitate the work flow of the unit. Sometimes being the charge nurse is a breeze; other times it's a challenge, but it is always an opportunity for personal and professional growth."
