Trauma (6 East)

Nurses on the Regions trauma unit care for patients in varying stages of injury from admission to discharge. The unit is a progressive care unit staffed with registered nurses and patient care assistants. The vision of the trauma unit is to be a team of professional caregivers that provide the best trauma care and experience to patients and families in the communities served by the hospital. The nurses work closely with trauma physicians, social workers, and trauma nurse clinicians to collaborate on the patient's plan of care. The 16-20-bed unit provides intermediate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric trauma patients who are received from the intensive care units, The Emergency Center at Regions and as direct admissions from outlying hospitals.
