 | Special Care Nursery (1CM)
The Regions Special Care Nursery is a Level II nursery and provides care for babies requiring close observation. These infants may be premature, have sepsis, hypoglycemia, meconium aspiration, seizure/neurological abnormalities or be small for gestational age. Babies who require ventilators are transferred to Level III hospitals in the area. The majority of the infants are admitted from Regions labor and delivery. The Special Care Nursery also receives newborns up to one-month old requiring admission for various medical concerns.
Nurses on this unit work closely with neonatal nurse practitioners and neonatologists. The unit offers 10 state-of-the-art private rooms with sleeping areas for parents.
