  | Pain Management
Not every patient who has cancer experiences pain. But if pain does occur, we place a high priority on finding ways to effectively relieve and reduce your pain. Our pain management services are offered in collaboration with our Medical Oncology, Surgical Specialties and Anesthesia Departments. If you are experiencing pain, talk with your physician about some of the options available to you to help manage the pain.
One of the ways to control pain is through medication. Your physician will work with you to determine what medication will be the most effective for managing your pain. We also offer hand and foot massages in our expanded chemotherapy infusion area to make this time for you as comfortable as possible.
There are several other ways to cope with the effects of pain, including:
- Take your pain medications on a regular schedule.
- Do not skip doses of your pain medication. If you wait to take medicine until you feel pain, it is harder to control.
- Try using relaxation techniques.
