Our Staff

When you arrive at the Regions Hospital Trauma Center, you can be assured that our responsive staff will provide expert medical care. We have the state's only full time trauma specialists, highly trained physicians whose primary focus is the assessment and treatment of trauma injuries. The trauma specialist leads a trauma team made up of physicians and staff from a variety of specialties. All the staff are readily available to care for any patient, including staff physicians in emergency medicine and surgery.

Emergency Medicine Staff Physicians evaluate your condition and coordinate your treatment in the emergency center.

Trauma Surgeons are the staff physicians that oversee all aspects of your surgical care.

Trauma Nurse Clinicians (TNC) work closely with the physicians and can help you understand your plan of care. They organize your care.

The trauma nurse clinician can also help with the following:

  • Arrange meetings with doctors to discuss care.
  • Request help for you from other hospital staff such as social services, chaplaincy and patient representative.
  • Help with plans for discharge from the hospital.
To contact a trauma nurse clinician, please call (651) 221-1216

Surgery Residents are physicians who are training in surgery or emergency medicine. They help care for trauma patients in the intensive care units and on general patient care floors.
