  | Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant
Bone marrow/stem cell transplants are treatments used when the bone marrow itself contains cancer (leukemia or multiple myeloma) and must be destroyed with high doses of chemotherapy. The transplants are also used when bone marrow is destroyed as a result of chemotherapy being used to treat other cancer. The new bone marrow can come from another person or it may be the patients own marrow, which can be removed and stored prior to treatment.
Complete bone marrow transplant programs are provided through our close affiliation with the
University of Minnesota Transplant Program.
