Community Education

Because professional networking is essential for the effective delivery of mental health services, the Health and Wellness Program (HWP) offers consultation and community education services to organizations, social service agencies, community groups, schools, hospitals and state agencies that work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and their families.

In addition, meetings, classes and lectures for the deaf and hard of hearing community help raise awareness about mental illness, the principles of positive mental health and wellness, and ways to access the mental health system.

HWP is also a training site for students working toward graduate degrees in fields related to mental health and deafness. Persons interested should contact HWP for more information at (651) 254-5708.
