The Department of Pathology provides complete anatomical and clinical pathology services to Regions Hospital patients and many other clients, including other hospitals, physician's offices and clinics.
Pathology services include:
- Anatomical and surgical pathology
- Cytology, including fine needle aspirations
- Toxicology, including forensic and industrial drug testing and therapeutic drug monitoring
- Clinical chemistry
- Microbiology, including mycology and mycobacterilogy
- Hematology, including special hematology, hematopathology, bone marrow biopsies and aspirations
- Blood bank and immunohematology
- Blood coagulation
