Consider the RHSC, Inc. advantage

RHSC, Inc. offers a flexible benefit program which allows you the greatest amount of flexibility in designing a package that’s just right for you!

Some of the features of our program for full-time employees are listed below. (For purposes of benefit programs, full-time is considered to be 32–40 hours per week.)

Part-time employees who work .5 FTE (that’s 20 hours per week) or more are also eligible to participate in the programs below but with rates and allowances prorated.


Insurance information

Medical & dental coverage

RHSC subsidizes premiums, offering the following plan choices through HealthPartners:

  • Basic Plan – Single or Family coverage
  • Premium Plan – Single or Family coverage
  • RHSC benefit book

Other insurance benefits

The following insurance benefits are also offered to our employees:

  • Disability: RHSC provides short-term and long-term disability coverage. RHSC pays for short-term disability at 60 percent of earnings.You may purchase long-term coverage at 50 percent, 60 percent or 70 percent of earnings. (Benefit credit equal to coverage at 60 percent of earnings.)
  • Group term life insurance: RHSC provides coverage of 1–1/2 times your base pay. You may purchase additional coverage up to five times your base pay.
  • Group term dependent life: RHSC offers the option to purchase life insurance for your spouse/domestic partner and for your child(ren).

Flexible spending accounts

RHSC offers participation in a Health and Dependent Care Spending Account. These accounts allow you to pay for certain health, dental or dependent care expenses you incur such as eye glasses, orthodontia or day care on a pre-tax basis. As a result of your participation, your taxable income is decreased.


Personal time off (PTO)

RHSC offers new employees 14–19 days of Basic Personal Time Off (PTO) per year. You may also purchase on a pre-tax basis up to 10 additional days off. You will receive a benefit credit worth five of those purchased days (prorated for part-time employees). There are six paid holidays annually.


Retirement plans

Retirement pension plan

RHSC pays all contributions to a defined benefit retirement plan. You are vested after five years. You must be at least 21 years of age and have one year of service in which you worked 1,000 hours.

401(k)

RHSC matches 100 percent of your contributions, up to 5 percent of your pay. You may save up to 15 percent of your pay in this tax-sheltered account. Enrollment is effective January 1 or July 1 of each year. You are vested after five years.


Employee health & wellness

Frequent fitness

As a HealthPartners member, you are eligible to participate in the Frequent Fitness program through HealthPartners. Work out 12 times or more in a month and you’ll save $20 each month on your health club membership. A few of the participating clubs include: Anytime Fitness, Curves, LA Fitness, LifeTime Fitness, YMCA and YWCA.

Retail savings

Use your HealthPartners Member ID card to get discounts at more than 40 popular local and national retailers of health and wellness products and services. Participating retailers include: eyewear, fitness and wellness classes, healthy eating programs and delivery services, recreational equipment, spa services, swim lessons and more.

Optical shop

RHSC employees as well as their dependents can receive a 20 discount discount on the purchase of prescription glasses at Regions Optical Shop.


Tuition reimbursement

Employees who have passed probation and are scheduled to work 40 hours or more every two-week pay period are eligible. Employees may receive up to $2,000 annually if course enhances quality of work in present or future position within Regions Hospital.

Buyers services

Employees can save money on major purchases when they use United Buying Service, a consumer discount program offered as an employee benefit. Discounts are available on furniture, appliances, televisions, VCRs, stereos, jewelry, carpeting, travel, real estate and cars.

Other discounts

You can receive discounts on a variety of products and services offered through HealthPartners such as bike helmets, community resources, walking programs, exercise equipment, gun trigger locks and self-care books.

Credit union

As a RHSC employee, you and your family are eligible to join the City and County Employees Credit Union.


Employee recognition

Employee recognition week

Employees are recognized for their commitment and dedication to the organization in a variety of ways including ice cream socials, employee picnics, coupons and gift cards, etc.

Owner of the Month

A program through which hospital, clinic and foundation staff members are recognized by their co-workers for exemplary service. Benefits include a free parking spot on campus for a month, engraved plaque, recognition by Regions President and CEO Brock Nelson with a ceremony in their department, a gift certificate, and recognition in our employee newsletter and on our e-messaging systems located throughout the hospital.
