Capitol View Transitional Care Center specializes in intensive, short term rehabilitation. We provide inpatient therapy and nursing care after hospitalization to get you on the road to recovery and back into the community.
Part of the HealthPartners family of care, we are a nonprofit organization separate from Regions Hospital.
We are very proud of the care and services we provide. We accept patients from all area hospitals in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area and would love to share more about our program with you. Please call us at 651-254-0400 to schedule a personalized tour.
We are located at:
8th floor, Central section of Regions Hospital
640 Jackson Street
St. Paul, MN 55101
Note: Capitol View patient visitors receive free parking in the Regions West Parking Ramp.
Capitol View’s care team works together to form a rehabilitation plan tailored to your individual needs. Our care team includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists and a registered dietician. HealthPartners physician and nurse practitioner teams are also onsite to provide medical management.
Daily meetings are held by the care team to discuss your progress and make necessary changes to your plan of care. We also provide any training that may be needed before discharge and help set up any medical equipment or services that will be required after you leave.

Visiting hours
Visitors are welcome daily 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. We are not able to accommodate overnight guests. A list of local hotels is available upon request. Capitol View patient visitors will receive free parking in the Regions West Parking Ramp only (located on Jackson Street, close to the corner of University Avenue). You can also order flowers or gifts through the Bright Corner Gift Shop.
Access to transitional care services
Most insurers (but not all) require a minimum of a three day hospital stay before they will pay for transitional care services. Your hospital care team will determine if the rehabilitation services offered by Capitol View Transitional Care Center will be necessary for you. If such services are needed, a hospital social worker or case manager will discuss this option with you and will contact our admissions department to start the process for transfer to us.
Insurance information
Our transitional care services are generally covered if you have one of the following insurance plans: Medicare, MSHO, HealthPartners, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Preferred One, United Health Care, and Medica. We also accept most auto, worker's compensation, private insurance plans, and self-pay. Currently we are unable to accept UCare and Medical Assistance (MA) unless it is part of an MSHO plan. Before your arrival we obtain prior authorization from your insurance plan to ensure your stay will be covered.
