Find out more about the project and our commitment to mental health care.
Regions Hospital has been a community leader in mental health care for years. This facility is a continuation of that mission.
Regions and HealthPartners are longtime advocates for mental health, partnering with organizations such as National Alliance on Mental Illness, providing safety net services to the east metro and consistently making mental health services a priority. Our services include chemical dependency treatment, outpatient mental health treatment and inpatient mental health services.
The new facility will provide private rooms for all of our patients, separate dining and common areas, and ample space and privacy for families and visitors. Other highlights include
- An eight-story, 115,000-square-foot, free-standing building between the North Section and the power plant along University Avenue (the new building will connect to the North Section)
- 100 private inpatient rooms, with the option of finishing an additional floor and adding 20 more rooms
- A better environment for patients including private, handicapped accessible rooms with private baths, secure outside space and patients grouped by clinical needs
- Family-friendly patient care space for behavioral health therapies and education.
- Space for educational and training seminars for mental health professionals.
- Construction on the $36 million project is scheduled to begin in May 2011 and be completed late in 2012.
