Proceeds will help us expand access to the newest cancer research
When cancer strikes, patients need the hope that comes with access to the most advanced treatments. Many want to participate in the latest clinical trials of new treatments. Some have no other option. For these patients, the future is growing increasingly bright. With the many advances in cancer therapies, more patients are living longer with a better quality of life. But too often, patients must access other health systems or even travel across the country to participate in clinical trials.
Regions Hospital is already a leading provider of cancer research. Now, with help from the 27th Annual Wine Auction, we will accelerate the expansion of our cancer research program, with a particular emphasis on early-stage research. This expansion will make Regions a regional resource for the latest cancer research. As a result, local residents will have greater access to the latest breakthrough therapies. Easier access to clinical trials will allow patients to focus less on the details of their treatment and more on their daily lives. This access will be especially valuable to the many low-income patients we serve, since such patients often do not have the resources to access trials elsewhere yet deserve the same access to the newest treatments.
