Proceeds will strengthen the programs of our Burn Center
The Twin Cities can take pride in the Burn Center at Regions Hospital. Started in 1963 as one of the first burn centers in the country, it has become the most complete and extensive facility of its kind in the Upper Midwest, providing state-of-the-art care for all types of burns and wounds. The Burn Center provides the finest care to patients and their families from the time of injury through rehabilitation, all in one location. Many of its staff members are national leaders in burn treatment, research and rehabilitation.
Now, with proceeds from The 2015 Wine Auction, the Burn Center will bolster the emotional care it offers to its patients, who suffer rates of post-traumatic stress equal to that of our military forces. The center is a leader in the research of new treatments and technologies, and event proceeds will allow it to hire a research fellow to keep this program going strong. Finally, contributions will allow the Burn Center to provide follow-up care to patients in locations across the five-state area, making our specialized care more convenient and affordable to those who live far away.
