Phone calls
If you are able to receive phone calls, they will ring directly in your room between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Calls outside of those hours are directed to the hospital operator at 651-254-3456, and the call will be transferred to your unit.
To make a local call, dial 9 and then the phone number. Long-distance calls from your room can only be made with a credit card, calling card or by calling collect.

Notary public
For notarizing healthcare-related documents, please tell your nurse, and they will contact a notary public at the hospital. Do not sign the document(s) until the notary public is present to witness your signature.
Special occasions
If you are in the hospital on your birthday or anniversary, we want to help you celebrate! Upon request, we’ll make a birthday cake as our gift to you and do whatever else we can to make your day special. Please ask your nurse for details.
Safekeeping of your valuables
Please keep any valuable items at home or send them home with a friend or family member. If you have a valuable item at the hospital, please store it in the safe in your room or ask your nurse about storing it in the safe at the cashier’s office. The hospital does not accept responsibility for items unless they are deposited in the cashier’s office safe. For lost or missing items, please contact the Security Office.
