Volunteers

Volunteers help patients in a variety of ways, including flower delivery, transportation or helping you get ready to go home. They also can provide decks of cards, puzzle books, magazines and other reading material for both patient and guest use.

Regions Hospital provides a unique volunteer pet therapy program. Pets are an important part of many people’s lives and can be therapeutic in patient care situations. There are more than 40 volunteers with specially-trained dogs who visit the hospital periodically and may stop by your unit. Some units may not be open to pet therapy due to infection control. Check with your nurse for pet therapy availability.
