Richard J. Young, PhD, LP

In my work at the Rehabilitation Institute I collaborate with patients to enhance positive adjustment to a variety of health changes, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and chronic illness. I emphasize cognitive behavioral strategies in working to improve conditions including depression, anxiety, anger, and insomnia. I also assist with issues including return to work and/or school, relationship concerns, and managing complex medical regimens and navigating the healthcare system. My work begins with a thorough assessment and attention to understanding my patients' goals, and establishing measurable outcomes around mood and functioning, with emphasis on managing healthcare needs within a satisfying lifestyle.
