I have worked in Adult Medicine and Geriatrics for over 30 years. I now work in close collaboration with the Geriatric Orthopaedics Trauma Team of Julie Switzer, MD and J. Noel, O-PA managing the orthopaedic needs of the elderly in the community, hospital and nursing home facilities. The management of the bone health problems of the elderly requires the creative clinical expertise of Nursing and Orthopaedic Surgery and Geriatric Medicine care providers. Our goal is not only to treat fractures after the fact but work with the patient, their primary physicians and care providers to prevent orthopaedic injuries and manage osteoporosis. Working together with these teams we are able to make a real difference for the aged with their unique care needs in whatever setting they are. We will go out to the community if they are unable to come in to us. Each patient is very unique and our care plan adjusts to the patient.
