Sexual assault help

Have you been forced to do something sexually that you didn’t want to do? We are here to help you even if you are not sure you have been raped or you are not sure you want to file a police report.

Regions Hospital Emergency Center is available 24/7 for people who have been sexually assaulted. We have specially trained nurses to provide compassionate care for victims of sexual assault or rape. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will perform an exam. She will care for your physical and emotional injuries and assess any risk for a sexually transmitted infection. You are in control of the exam. You can refuse any part that you are not comfortable with.

Males, females and transgender persons at least 13 years of age can receive care for sexual assault at Regions Hospital. If you are under 18, you do not need a parent’s permission to come to Regions and receive care for a sexual assault. Youth age 12 or under can receive medical care at Regions, but the sexual assault exam and evidence collection is done by Midwest Children’s Resource Center, located at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in St. Paul, MN at 651-220-6750.
