Aquatic pool classes
Did you know that there is a warm-water therapeutic pool located on the Regions Hospital campus? The pool is located on the first floor of the Regions Hospital north section, to the immediate right of the north elevators. The Therapy Pool program offers aquatic physical therapy and exercise programs that increase strength, mobility, balance and conditioning in a decreased pain environment secondary to the warmth and buoyancy the pool affords. The warm-water therapeutic pool located at Regions Hospital is offering new exercise classes. The Therapy Pool has partnered with the Arthritis Foundation to offer aquatic arthritis classes. These classes are geared towards individuals who are looking for low-impact exercises for healthy benefits. Another new exercise class is ortho boot camp. This class is geared towards individuals who are looking for a moderate paced exercise class for general strengthening and overall conditioning to prevent surgery or recover from surgery. The warm-water therapeutic pool located at Regions Hospital is offering updated exercise classes for employees and community members looking for opportunities to exercise and stay fit. The balance class offered is ideal for individuals who have survived strokes, traumatic brain injuries, or are living with Parkinson’s or other neurological diseases. The get fit class is a low to moderate impact class focused on general conditioning and promoting weight loss. The following are classes and one-on-one sessions that are offered at the Regions Hospital Therapy pool:
The therapy pool offers open hours for former pool therapy clients who are interested in continuing their individual programs. The open pool times give past clients an opportunity to improve on the skills they have learned and exercises they have learned from the therapist. Although it is not necessary to schedule an appointment, you can verify open pool hours by calling 651-254-4797. A full schedule is posted outside of the therapy pool and in the pool lobby. To participate, you may purchase single, 10- or 20- visit passes.
"Get Centered" balance class
To enhance your balance and stability, increase body awareness and promote relaxation, enroll in the "Get Centered" balance class. This class will take you through a variety of aquatic exercises tailored to your current level of fitness. The exercises include gentle stretches, Tai Chi-inspired movement patterns, core stabilization and balance.
"Arthritis Exercise" class:
Therapy Pool has partnered with the Arthritis Foundation to offer aquatic arthritis classes. These classes are geared towards individuals who are looking for low-impact exercises for healthy benefits.
"Ortho Boot Camp" class
This class is geared towards individuals who are looking for a moderate paced exercise class for general strengthening and overall conditioning to prevent surgery or recover from surgery.
"Get Fit" exercise class
This six-week class focuses on posture, body mechanics, balance, stretching, strengthening and conditioning. Class size is limited, so pre-registration is mandatory.
Myofascial trigger point therapy
Myofascial trigger point therapy is a hands-on technique used to decrease pain and muscle spasm and increase range of motion in tight, painful muscles. This type of therapy is effective with many types of conditions including migraines, chronic neck and back pain, joint pain and fibromyalgia.

Independent exercise sessions
This rehabilitation program is designed for patients who work one-on-one with a physical therapist and are covered by worker’s compensation or no-fault auto insurance. When qualifying patients are ready to start practicing their programs independently, the therapist will no longer assist the patient but instead will be available to answer any questions and concerns.

How to get to Regions Hospital
Regions Hospital is located at 640 Jackson Street in St. Paul, near the junction of Interstates 94 and 35E. The entrance to the hospital is on Jackson Street. For automated directions, please call 651-254-2377.
The therapy pool is located in the north section of the hospital on first floor. Visitors are encouraged to park in the west parking area and take the north section elevators down to the first floor. The pool is located to the right of the elevators.
