What to expect
To prepare for your first visit, we will ask you to fill out a health history questionnaire in advance. It’s a good idea to write down any questions you have, too. And feel free to bring a family member with you. Sometimes it helps to have an extra set of ears to take in information. During your first visit we will assess your condition and work with you to develop a personal treatment plan. You’ll learn about the non-surgical or surgical options that will work best for you.
Non-surgical spine care
Pain can often be relieved with non-surgical treatment like medications and/or physical therapy. We will work with your primary care physician to look at test results and develop a care plan.
You may be referred to a non-surgical or medical spine specialist if you have:
- Pain in your back and/or neck
- Acute (urgent) and chronic (ongoing) spine problems
- A degenerative back or neck condition
Spine surgery
If surgery is recommended, you’ll be in excellent hands. Our team includes world-class neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons. They are skilled in all types of spine surgery from minimally invasive procedures to complex surgeries. You may be referred to a spine surgeon if you have one of these conditions:
- Cervical disc disease/rupture
- Spinal deformity
- Scoliosis
- Degenerative disc disease
