Stroke Peer Visitor Program
ShareGivers™ Peer Visitor Program
Regions Hospital offers the ShareGivers™ Peer Visitor Program created by the American Stroke Association and American Heart Association. This program connects stroke survivors with hospitalized stroke patients, before discharge, to provide support, information and encouragement. The ShareGivers™ peer visitors go through training and are available to share their own personal perspective.
ShareGivers™ Peer Visitor Program can help:
- You and your caregivers understand the new emotions and concerns
- Answer questions based on personal experience
- Encourage progress and lend support throughout the recovery process
Peer visitors share their experience
