During my teaching experience with special needs and socioeconomically disadvantaged students in Minnesota, I became aware of the many students who struggled to learn due to undiagnosed or untreated mental health, behavioral, emotional and cognitive conditions. Taking care of special needs students who also had health needs opened my eyes to the medical field, and in 2014 I decided to transition to nursing to help make a difference.

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I work with adults and children, helping patients manage their medications and referring them to therapists who may be a good fit. I am very open to feedback and firmly believe patients should direct their own care. I respect everyone's diverse values and cultural backgrounds. Realizing that mental health is a sensitive subject, I want patients to know that I don't judge anyone. I am just here to help.

I have spent time traveling and working in Brazil, London, Nigeria and South Korea. World travel is one of my passions. I also enjoy collecting fine art and horseback riding.
