  • Practicing Specialty: Internal Medicine
  • Doctor

I decided to become a physician early in life when a family member had a lot of interactions with the health care system. I became a hospitalist in particular because I enjoy the variety and the high level of acuity in the illnesses I treat. As an internist and hospitalist, I don't have to choose to specialize in one area.

I view myself as my patients' advisor and consultant, helping them to understand the pros and cons of the available approaches to finding a diagnosis and treatment. There is generally more than one way to diagnose and treat an illness, and I believe patients should have an active role in determining the best course of action.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading and listening to music - both recorded and live. I also like to spend as much time as possible outside.

I am a member of the Society for Hospital Medicine (SHM) and the American College of Physicians (ACP).
