Edith L. Ziegler, CNM
- Practicing Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Certified Nurse Midwife
Edith sees herself as an advocate for her patients. She keeps them informed of their choices and helps them remain active participants in their children's births.
"A goal for every birth is that the woman should have a deeper appreciation for the strength of her own body and her capacity to birth a baby. Birth is a wondrous experience," Edith says. Her own daughter and son were delivered by a nurse-midwife at Regions.
Edith has worked in general hospital nursing, emergency medicine and obstetrics. She spent eighteen months working with refugees in Thailand, and was impressed by the active role women take during labor and delivery and the support they had from their families.
