  • Practicing Department: Mental Health
  • Social Worker

I earned my bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Minnesota and my master's in counseling from St. Mary's University. I have enjoyed 20+ years working in the mental health field in a variety of settings, including a long-term care facility, an eating disorder treatment facility, a hospital and an emergency room. During my career, I have served as a chemical dependency counselor, employee assistance counselor and therapist.

My special areas of interest include anxiety, depression, adjustment to life transitions, eating disorders, relationship issues, substance abuse, eldercare issues, caregiver stress and women's issues.

I enjoy working with adults on an individual basis as well as working with couples and families. My therapy approach is to join with my patients to guide them toward empowering themselves to live their lives with a sense of self-appreciation and fulfillment. I strive to provide a safe and trustworthy environment where each individual will feel listened to and understood so they can experience healing and growth. I respect and honor everyone's personal spiritual journey.

Outside of work, I enjoy nature and wildlife of every kind. I especially enjoy being up on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
