Emotional health plays a critical role in our overall health and life enjoyment. That is why I chose to become a Licensed Clinical Psychologist: so I could help others attend to their emotional well-being. In many instances, our psychological health can be a greater source of pain than our physical health, especially considering it can be more vague, long-standing and invisible to others. Life can be challenging for everyone at times, and I want to support others in developing greater self-awareness and insight into their behaviors, emotions, and relationship struggles while at the same time helping people to develop more adaptive ways of being/coping in the world.

I have worked with others in the past addressing long-term or short-term difficulties, as well as helping them to develop coping skills around issues of past or current stressors. I specialize in individual psychotherapy with individuals over 16 years of age. The issues I treat include depression, anxiety, and low self-worth; relationship, job and life stressors; personality difficulties; history of trauma/abuse; anger management; and assertiveness difficulties.

As a provider, I believe that therapy works best in a collaborative team approach. My therapeutic approach is solution-focused, generally embodying psychodynamic (insight) theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and attachment theory.

I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have worked mostly in outpatient mental health settings in Chicago, Hibbing and the Twin Cities.

During my personal time, I pursue many different interests, from hiking, reading and biking, to spending time with family and friends and enjoying live music.
