I love practicing emergency medicine because I get the opportunity to treat a wide variety of illnesses, from benign issues to the life-threatening problems we frequently handle at Regions Hospital. I enjoy the challenge of helping patients and families thrive through potentially difficult situations and getting them set up with the best care for the day I see them and beyond.

The patients I see in my medical toxicology practice allow me to dive deep into the puzzle of their poison exposure, whether it was a prescription drug, street drug, plant or chemical. I fill my non-clinical time with teaching multiple levels of medical learners, doing emergency medicine and toxicology research, and participating on multiple hospital and national organization committees.

When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my family and friends, training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and celebrating Wisconsin sports. (I have a lot of green and gold clothing, but not a single item of purple.)

I'm an active member of the following national organizations:
* American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT)
* American Association of Clinical Toxicology (AACT)
* American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)
* American Association of Emergency Physicians (AAEM)
* Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM)
