An Emergency care team that's ready for anything
As a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center in St. Paul, we can handle any illness or injury, from minor to the most complex. Come to the emergency center if you experience something sudden or unexpected, like an injury, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe stomach pain or bleeding you can’t stop.
We provide renowned specialty care for burns, heart conditions and much more. Our Emergency Room is also Joint Commission certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. We are led by board-certified emergency doctors and specialists that are ready to help you 24/7. You’ll be surrounded by a team of people, working together to quickly get you the care you need.
What to bring to the Emergency center
- Medications. Bring medications you’re taking or a list of your current medications. This includes prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines (ibuprofen, etc.), supplements and vitamins.
- Medical equipment. Whatever you use every day that might help in your treatment.
- Important phone numbers and contact information.

Critical Care Research Center
We’re always looking at how we can improve your care and recovery. That’s why our onsite center conducts research in eight specialty areas, including emergency medicine, intensive care, burns and trauma.
We’re actively studying stroke, traumatic brain injuries, cardiac arrest resuscitation, blood clot prevention and pain management.
An advisory council of medical directors and hospital leaders oversees the center.
